Letter From Menny

Hi Clay, I read your book and absolutely loved it. I especially related to the prologue. I am in a different 12 step fellowship though. I was also actually told by a sponsor of mine that I needed 30 days before working the steps and never got there. I then left the fellowship and didn't return for 6 years (it was a combination of a few factors, but one of them was I couldn't get sober long enough to start the steps). Anyway, I was hoping for more of an explanation in the epilogue. What is the new understanding of the big...

Hey Clay! I listened to the episode where you discussed our email and just want to thank you so much and emphasize how appreciative I am for this episode. The directions laid out in the book are so simple and yet it's so easy to overcomplicate. Thank you thank you thank you, words cannot describe how grateful I am for your podcast. I look forward to your future episodes and hope you're having a beautiful Monday. Sincerely, Catwoman 😺

Hi Clay! My name is Mallory H. and I’m from Dallas, TX. First off, just want to let you know how much I enjoy your podcast. I am so grateful for your wisdom, it has helped me so much in my recovery journey. Also, I am very good friends with Anna from Lake Highlands haha, so I loved the shout out you gave her. That was so cool! Anyways, I listened to the episode about making amends today and it really resonated with me. I am a little over 2 years sober and the amends process is probably the weakest...

This for whatever reason, irritates me to no end. Isn't God always willing, and it's usually us who isn't? I've been struggling with this notion for years now in AA. When someone says to me in conversation, "God willing blah blah blah..." I always respond to them, "God is always willing, but are you?" And of course, I get this crazy...
Letter From Leslie

Hi Clay, Hallelujah. Thank the Lord. This is literally the first time in 37 years of recovery I have ever heard anyone in the program say this other than my original therapist (who is in the program), my current therapist, and those in my recovery pit crew. I always say “Anger is a normal human emotion. Learning how to express it in a healthy way is the issue in recovery.” One of my huge pet peeves in AA is the widespread oft-repeated dogma that anger is pathological, wrong, is denied, etc. THANK...
